Buma/Stemra collects fees for the use of music on behalf of affiliated composers, authors and music publishers. Gigstarter also pays Buma/Stemra for the streams that take place from our website, provided that Buma/Stemra manages the rights to that music.
To determine which songs Buma/Stemra controls the rights to, we ask artists to indicate this in all honesty when uploading the music.
Do I now also have to pay Buma/Stemra?
No, artists do not have to pay Buma/Stemra for the streams that take place on Gigstarter. Gigstarter has decided to fully cover Buma/Stemra's costs. Moreover, Buma/Stemra will not contact you for the music you have on our platform.
