BIOGRAFIA
I The Great Divide si formano nel 2011 quando Pier Paolo Cianca (chitarra) Vladimiro Melchiorre (batteria) e Alessio Ripani (basso), iniziano a scrivere insieme in un box auto convertito in sala prove e studio di registrazione nella periferia sud di Roma. Una volta ingaggiato il cantautore italo-americano Gino Maradé (voce solista), attraversano due anni prolifici e intensi nei quali scrivono una decina di nuovi brani, registrano una demo di cinque pezzi e calcano i palchi in tutta la capitale italiana. Quando Gino Maradé deve tornare a New York nel 2013 la band ha una battuta di arresto, quindi Mauro Pala (Avekey e Dr. Hyde) si unisce all band come voce solista, e l'amico di lunga data e mentore Gabriele Sorrentino (Hyperdrive) finalmente fa il suo ingresso ufficiale. La formazione è consolidata e con due chitarre la band è ora più potente e il suono ancora più aggressivo. ALBUM D’ESORDIO
Nel luglio 2017, i The Great Divide si chiudono in studio, e in un fine settimana registrano live il loro album di debutto "Union", nella vecchia maniera: live in presa diretta, cavi dritti negli amplificatori e senza editing in post produzione, alla ricerca della stessa magia, energia ed interplay che si sente nei dischi degli anni 70.
RECENSIONI E FEEDBACK
"Union" ha già ricevuto commenti positivi da diverse riviste (Metalforce - incluso nei migliori 10 Album del 2017, Fireworks) ed è andato in onda in alcune delle più rilevanti radio italiane che si occupano di rock (Radio Rock, Radio Kaos, Radio Godot, Radio Nova Sorso).
TOUR EUROPEO La band al momento si sta esibendo sui palchi italiani ed europei (tour in Ungheria, Repubblica Ceca, Slovacchia e Polonia) davanti ad una fanbase entusiasta e sempre più numerosa.
INFLUENZE
La band trova il suo suono e definisce il suo linguaggio a metà strada tra l'hard rock di Velvet Revolver e Foo Fighters, e il grunge di Alice in Chains e Stone Temple Pilots, con influenze crossover e alternative rock.
