Backroads Project nasce nel 2017 dalla voglia di creare qualcosa di innovativo partendo dalla musica dei pionieri della fusion: Yellowjackets, Bob Berg, Mike Stern Band, Chick Corea Electric Band, Steps Ahead.
Waiting Times, titolo del primo lavoro in studio della band, nonché di una ballad all’interno dello stesso, è il risultato della ricerca di un’identità sonora e un omaggio ai grandi musicisti che sono per noi fonte di ispirazione.
